The Cock, or Rooster, has prominence throughout the world’s traditions as a powerful symbol.  Within Europe it is a masculine, solar symbol that embodies the qualities of bravery, strength, and wisdom.  Within Asia it signifies fortitude fidelity, and protection.  Many people will place a rooster in the kitchen of the hoe as it is widely believed that the presence of a cock in the kitchen is a symbol of luck, health, and prosperity.
